The purpose of the School-Based Settlement Work Tools Inventory project was to collect samples of the tools that are used by Service Provider Organizations (SPOs) to carry on school-based settlement initiatives (intake forms, questionnaires, pamphlets and other communication tools, etc) and to make recommendations about tools that should be developed to help SPOs implement and carry on SWIS type initiatives.

To make the inventory as accessible and easy to update as possible, the were organized tools into four categories:

  • Operational
  • Client Service
  • Information
  • Outreach

Within the categories, similar tools have been grouped together. Each tool is described using the following headings:

  • Tool Name
  • Description
  • How to Use It (when not self-evident, or if a particular tool may be used differently)
  • Format the tool was created in
  • Date the tool was created
  • Author - a contact name or email address if the reader is interested in more information about a particular tool

The Recommendations are organized into the following categories:

  • Recommendations for New Operational and Client Service Tools
  • Recommendations for New Information and Outreach Tools
  • Recommendations for New Program Tools and Strategies
