Note: This group is no longer operational since Community Integration Network (CIN) have inherited the provincial coordination of SWIS.

Certain Ontario regions have developed their own steering committees (without CIC representation), like SEPYR (Settlement and Education Partnership in York Region), but CIN is not an official member of those.

To provide advice and guidance to Citizenship and Immigration Canada on broad operational issues and policies relating to the Settlement Workers in the Schools Program (SWIS). Broad operational issues are those that would impact on the entire SWIS program and across the province.

To review, assess and make recommendations on proposals for funding under Stream B of the Immigrant Settlement and Adaptation (ISAP) program that are of a provincial scope and relate to the SWIS program.
