The first time you login you will automatically create a blank user profile for yourself. You can then go in and add your contact info, your experience, education, and even your personal interests. Once the profile is completed, any document you contribute to will have your profile attached and you can link up with other wiki users.

Why create a user profile?

  • Allows others to get in contact with you -- they love an article you put up or they need your expertise
  • Establishes an identifiable presence on the wiki
  • Helps in establishing communities of practice and making collaboration easier
  • Enhances the ability to gain insight from other people
  • Creates a sense of connectedness, especially if geographically separated
  • Adds a cross-national and cross-cultural dimension to knowledge and learning
  • Best of all ... creating a user profile page is your space to describe yourself!

Create a personalized user profile page

Populate your user profile with information you want to share with colleagues such as:

  • your position and role
  • how to reach you at work
  • what motivates you
  • your areas of expertise
  • your work experience
  • your interests, hobbies and passions
