CENIP was established in 2003 as a Francophone women focused economic development organization. Their mandate was for female empowerment through economic freedom. Early services included job search assistance and labour market preparedness. After conducting research on the extended needs of Francophone families CENIP expanded their services to include families and children. In 2005 services were opened to all Francophone immigrants including men. CENIP has worked with RDEE Canada (national Francophone economic development network) and La Passerelle IDÉ.
